Play Format: Four Balls
All participants will form two team, the Grizzlies and the Buffaloes. For every four people, there will be one 2-player group (two players from the Grizzlies) competing against another 2-player group (two players from the Buffaloes). All players play their own balls from tee to hole. T
he lowest score of the two players will be counted as their group’s score. The group with the lowest score wins the hole.
One round is divided into two phases, the first 9 holes are played in the first phase and the last 9
holes in the second phase. One point can be earned for the first 9 holes and another point for the second 9 holes. Please be aware that each group may start from different holes due to shotgun format, please start counting your 9 holes from your starting hole.
By the end of the first phase, the 2-player group with more winning holes wins the phase and earns one point for their team. If the two groups tie at the end of the first phase, they each earn half a point for their teams.
At the beginning of the second phase (hole 10), the score will be reset to zero (the holes won in the first phase are not carried into phase 2). At the end of the second phase, the same rules used at the end of the first phase are applied to determine the point(s) earned per team during the second phase.
At the end of the two phases, the team captains will add up the points from his/her team’s groups to get their team’s total points. The team with more points wins.
Playoff will be sudden death format at Hole #1. The captain will pick two players from his/her team to compete against another two players from the opposing team. If the first playoff ends in a tie, then each team captain will pick another two players to play in the second playoff. If the second playoff is tied again, the process will be repeated until there is a winning team.
Play Rules
1. One-stroke penalty for lost balls (including tee off), ball unplayable, ball in rough, ball out of bound, ball in water, etc.
2. If the ball falls into a water hazard, drop the ball in drop zone. If there is no drop zone, drop the ball behind the water hazard (furthest side from green) at any position you choose. If lateral water hazard, treat it as out of bound.
3. If the ball is out of bound, in rough (including green side rough), ball unplayable, or in lateral water hazard, drop the ball within two-club lengths inward (closer to fairway or green side) from the edge of bound where the ball was found or where the ball crossed the lateral water hazard boundary. If there is a doubt, consult with playing partners to come to an agreement.
4. Free relief is given from the cart path. Drop the ball on the outside grass (furthest side from fairway) of cart path. If the outside grass is rough, then drop on the inside, near the original ball position.
5. Free relief is given if the ball lands in the water on the fairway or in the bunker if there is rain. If the ball is in the bunker, the ball must be dropped inside the bunker on dry sand.
6. Use simple stroke counting to calculate scores. No bonus is rewarded for eagle or birdie.
7. The MAX stroke is +3 on a hole.
8. In Hole 12, if your ball is lost, please proceed to the dropping zone with one stroke penalty.
Registration starts at 12:00 PM. Please do NOT arrive later than 12:30 PM. We will have a photographer for anyone interested upon registration. We will be taking a team picture at 12:45 PM. Practice facilities are available upon registration.
Fees: We will collect $155/person from Non-Angus Glen members, and $40/person from Angus Glen members, both in CASH.
If you come after 12:45 PM, an extra $5 late fee will be collected to cover dinner costs. (AG members, please give your member ID to Mark Chen, and DO NOT check in yourself)
Dinner and lucky draws will be held after the game at: 皇家御宴 (June 10, 2018) 7:00 PM. We will collect a dinner fee of $40/person. (Extra dinner costs are covered thanks to help from our sponsors and will include beer and wine). The members of the winning team will be awarded a $20 prize during dinner. Raffle prizes will also be drawn during dinner.
